How to build a personal dashboard with ChatGPT (no coding)

Updated 4 October 2026

You do not need to code to have a dashboard of your own. You need a clear description of your life and an AI assistant that can turn that description into a working file. Here is how that works with ChatGPT, step by step.

What you end up with

A single dashboard file that opens in your web browser from your own Mac or Windows computer. It has the sections you asked for, such as finances, calendar, goals, or work, plus simple forms for adding your own information. Your records stay on your computer.

The steps

  1. Answer five questions. DashboardHQ asks your name, what you already use, what you want a home for, and what shape the dashboard should take. The preview is free and needs no account.
  2. Watch it take shape. On the last step a sample dashboard appears and changes as you pick a type, colors, and style.
  3. Get your build prompt. The paid package gives you one complete prompt written from your answers.
  4. Paste it into ChatGPT. The prompt tells the assistant exactly what to build, field by field.
  5. Open the file. Follow the launch walkthrough that comes with the package and open your dashboard in your browser.

Why a specific prompt beats “make me a dashboard”

If you ask an assistant for a dashboard with no detail, you get a generic layout that you then spend hours fixing. A prompt built from your own answers names the sections, the fields in each section, and how records should behave, so the first version is much closer to what you wanted.

Common questions

Do I need to know how to code?

No. You paste a prompt into ChatGPT and follow a walkthrough. You do not write or edit code yourself.

Do I need ChatGPT Plus?

No. The packages work with ChatGPT or Claude, and a free account is enough.

Does DashboardHQ see my information?

No. Your finished dashboard and its records stay on your device by default. DashboardHQ cannot see them.
