Getting the most out of your package

After a successful payment, the email with your private download link usually arrives within a few minutes from hello@dashboardhq.app. If you do not see it:

1. Check your spam, junk, and Promotions folders.
2. Search your mailbox for dashboardhq.
3. If it is still missing after about fifteen minutes, email hello@dashboardhq.app from the address you used at checkout and we will resend it.

The private link is valid for seven days after purchase. If yours has expired, email us from the address you bought with and we will issue a fresh one. There is no charge for this.

Open the link in any browser. The package is a single page with your personalized instructions and a Copy my dashboard prompt button. Save the page (or keep the email) so you can come back to it. Nothing is installed on your device at this stage.

• Local Dashboard — $19.99. One complete personalized build prompt with your dashboard type, modules, sources, visual choices, workflows, and safety boundaries preloaded, plus copy-paste-open instructions and a start-from-scratch path.
• Local Auto-Refresh — $39.99. Everything in the Local Dashboard, plus a prompt section that builds a private refresh helper for your Mac or Windows computer.
• Auto-Refresh upgrade — $20. If you bought the Local Dashboard and use a desktop computer, you can pay the difference to add Auto-Refresh. Your upgrade link is in your delivery email and in the Day-7 follow-up.

1. Open your package and click Copy my dashboard prompt.
2. Open ChatGPT or Claude and start a new chat.
3. Paste the whole prompt and send it.
4. The AI builds a complete dashboard.html file. Download it and open it in your browser.
5. Follow the short walkthrough inside the dashboard, then add your first real record.

You do not need to know how to code. The prompt tells the AI to build the finished file, not to give you a plan.

No. A free account with ChatGPT or Claude is enough. If you do not have one, the wizard helps you pick and open a supported free option before you buy.

Reply to it with exactly this: build the complete dashboard.html now. If it still stops short, paste the whole prompt again from Copy my dashboard prompt — a partial paste is the most common cause.

Reply with just continue. The prompt tells the AI to stop at a clean line if it runs long and to pick up from the exact spot when you say that, so long builds finish in one or two steps. If the file opens but a section is missing, tell the AI which module is incomplete and ask it to rebuild that section into the same file.

Some AI chat tools cannot hand you a file directly; they only print the code in the chat. Select the whole code block and copy it, paste it into a plain text editor (TextEdit on Mac, Notepad on Windows), and save it as dashboard.html — make sure it saves with .html, not .txt. Then open that file the same way you would a normal download.

Yes. The prompt is not tied to one assistant. If your first attempt does not go well, open the prompt in a different supported AI and paste it there.

The dashboard.html file lives wherever you saved it on your device. It remembers your records in that browser's local storage. Keep the file somewhere you will find it again, and make a backup early.

Open the dashboard, go to Settings, and use the backup download. It saves a single file with all your records. Do this after your first real records and again whenever you have added a lot. To restore, use the import option in Settings and choose that file.

Yes. Export the relevant Notion database or Google Sheet as CSV, then use the CSV import in your dashboard's Settings and map the columns when prompted. Your finished dashboard includes step-by-step import instructions for the sources you chose in the wizard.

Yes. The finished dashboard has a Settings area where you can change the style and colors, adjust the amount of detail, reorder or hide modules, and resize them. If you want a structural change the AI did not include, open your prompt again, describe the change, and ask it to rebuild into the same file — back up first.

Yes. Make a backup first, then open the same AI chat (or a new one) with your current dashboard.html attached, and ask it to add the module — for example, "add a Fitness module to this dashboard, keep everything else exactly as it is." The AI already knows how the dashboard is built, so it can extend it the same way it built the rest.

A full reset is deliberately hard to do by accident. Settings offers a reset that first warns you to back up, then requires you to type the exact phrase yes reset my dashboard. Nothing is cleared until you do.

Yes. Once the file is on your device it opens and works without an internet connection. A connection is only needed if you later add an optional integration.

It is a small private helper that runs on your own Mac or Windows computer. After a one-time source authorization, it checks the sources you approved every six hours and updates your dashboard, so you are not doing it by hand. It runs locally and does not send your dashboard records to DashboardHQ.

Your package includes an operating-system setup walkthrough, a source-authorization step, the six-hour schedule, status reporting, and failure recovery. Download the finished DashboardHQ folder, complete the one-time authorization, and use Start Dashboard.

Scheduled refreshes only run while the computer is awake. If it was asleep, the next refresh happens once it wakes. Your dashboard keeps the last good data in the meantime — nothing is lost, it is just not newer.

The helper keeps the last successful data for that source and reports the failure in its status, rather than wiping the section. Re-authorize the source when you are ready and the next refresh picks it back up.

If you use a Mac or Windows computer, yes: you pay the $20 difference, not the full $39.99. Use the upgrade link in your delivery email or your Day-7 follow-up email. Orders that already have Auto-Refresh cannot use the upgrade again.

Attach your current dashboard.html to the same AI message before you paste the upgrade prompt. The AI keeps your existing dashboard, layout, and preferences and adds Auto-Refresh around them.

If you already have real entries saved, attaching the file alone will not bring them forward — your records live in that browser, not inside the file itself. Before you upgrade, open your current dashboard, use Backup to download a JSON export, and attach that backup along with dashboard.html so the AI can carry your entries into the new build. If you had not built a dashboard yet, the upgrade prompt can build the complete version from your saved choices.

No. Both packages require a Mac or Windows computer. Phone and tablet builds are not supported.

Phone and tablet support is deferred to a future DashboardHQ app. No release date or app features have been announced. Neither current package includes that app.

Phone and tablet viewing is not a supported use of these packages. Build and use your dashboard on a Mac or Windows computer.

No. You can start completely from scratch with the local forms built into your dashboard. Notion and Google Drive are optional and can be added whenever — or never.

Only if your tasks, notes, budgets, or client records already live there — then you do not have to retype them. There are two ways in:

• Connector: if your assistant (ChatGPT or Claude) has a Notion or Google connector set up, the build can read the pages or files you point it at directly.
• Export: otherwise, export the Notion database or Google Sheet as a file and use the CSV/JSON import in your dashboard's Settings, mapping the columns when prompted.

Either way it is a one-time import you preview and confirm, and no passwords are involved. Nothing keeps syncing on its own unless you also have the $39.99 Auto-Refresh package, which rereads your approved Notion sources automatically. If your information is not already in one of these, skip both.

Through official authorization or file exports, whichever the service supports. DashboardHQ never asks you to paste passwords, recovery codes, or private tokens into an AI chat, and every connection stays optional and revocable.

Gmail can. Other providers cannot. ChatGPT and Claude have a Gmail connector, so during the build the AI pulls a snapshot of your recent messages straight into the Email section — the same one-time-import idea as Notion or Google Drive.

The Auto-Refresh package's private helper does not connect to Gmail directly — no local app is allowed to do that. To keep the Email section current without doing it by hand, see Keeping Gmail or Google Sheets live below.

Yahoo, Outlook, iCloud, and other providers have no connector on any major assistant, so they cannot connect or sync. With those you forward or paste in the messages you want to track.

Auto-Refresh's private helper only refreshes Notion directly — that is the one connection it is built and authorized to keep current on a schedule. Gmail and Google Sheets have no live connector in any DashboardHQ package, and never will inside the local helper: a real one would require DashboardHQ to become a Google-verified OAuth application, which is out of scope for a local, one-time-purchase tool.

There is still a real way to keep either one live, using tools you already have in your ChatGPT or Claude account. When you choose this option in the wizard, your build prompt asks the AI to try setting it up for you right there in the same chat — connecting Notion and Gmail/Google Drive, creating the database, and creating the recurring scheduled task, then pointing your dashboard module at it. If your plan does not support scheduled tasks or connectors, the AI will tell you and you can do the same three steps yourself:

1. Create a Notion database to hold the live data — one row per email or per spreadsheet record, with columns matching what your dashboard module expects.
2. In ChatGPT or Claude, set up a scheduled task (a recurring prompt) that reads your Gmail or Google Sheet through that assistant's own connector, and writes new or changed rows into that Notion database. You write this once; the assistant repeats it on your schedule.
3. In your dashboard's Settings, point the relevant module at that Notion database as its source, the same way you would for any other Notion-backed module.

From there, Auto-Refresh treats it like any other Notion source: it rereads that database every six hours and on Refresh now. Keeping the Notion database itself current is your own scheduled task's job, entirely outside the dashboard and outside DashboardHQ's control — if that task stops running, the dashboard still shows the last data that made it into Notion.

Prefer a point-and-click setup instead of writing a scheduled prompt? Zapier and Make.com both have ready-made "new or updated row in Google Sheets → create or update item in Notion" automations you can use the same way. That is a separate service (with its own free tier and paid plans past it), not something DashboardHQ builds or manages.

If you chose guided setup in the wizard, your finished dashboard walks you through picking and mapping the exact Notion pages or Google Drive files you approve. If you chose self-directed, it stays usable locally and keeps the optional source instructions in Settings for whenever you want them.

No. The dashboard file and the records you save in it stay on your device. DashboardHQ does not host, receive, or back up that data. We keep only a purchase record (email, amount, date, order reference) to deliver your package and for accounting. Full details are on the privacy page.

Only the specific information and permissions you authorize for it, and nothing else. You can revoke that access from the service at any time.

Each package is delivered digitally and immediately, and its full contents are described before you buy, so all purchases are final and non-refundable. This is set out on the terms page, which you confirm at checkout.

Email hello@dashboardhq.app with the email you paid with. A duplicate charge, or a case where you never received a working download link and we cannot get one to you, we will put right.

Stripe emails a payment receipt to your checkout address, separately from your package email. Search your mailbox for Stripe or receipt if you do not see it.
